Except when it gives you a reason to make an exceptional soup with lentils and broccoli.
Here’s a Broccoli-Lentil soup from VeganYumYum that I made a few days ago. I didn’t have the stuff for the roasted red pepper coulis (and it was cold, so I wasn’t going out), so the red pepper heart had to do. And it did, just perfectly, in fact.

i made something similar with green lentils and kale, inspired by veganyumyum, and the color was not nearly as appetizing. looks delicious!
